Shadow quilt finish

I hoped to finish this in May but it was not to be. I have been planning this shadow quilt for a long time. I still need to add some fusible interfacing to strengthen the white fabric. It is a little thinner and more fragile than I had realized. That will be a pain but I think it will be worth it. Now...I need to decide if I want another border or two. I think I do - I wanted this quilt top to be a bit larger. I am thinking of looking for a gray and white fabric; not too bright or busy - I don't want to take away from the shadow blocks. Any thoughts?

  1. so beautiful! I love it just the way it is. I guess if I wanted it bigger I'd just add a darker gray border to frame it out.

  2. That is gorgeous...it actually looks like the squares are floating.

  3. That is such a beautiful quilt. Just looking at the picture looks like the blocks are flotting. You did a great job on it and would love to see it once it is quilted. Will you be quiltting it yourself?

  4. This is gorgeous just as it is. If you are looking for a fabric to make it larger maybe you might like one of the grays in the Simply Color line from Moda. There is one that is just gradations of the color across the WOF from very light white gray to medium gray. All the gray fabrics in this line are lovely. Looking forward to seeing this beauty when it is quilted ... :) Pat
